I’m a big Goldie Hawn fan… not that I’ve ever met her, but I’ve always been drawn to the fact that seems so genuinely happy with her wide teethy grin. And plus, you have to love her in Housesitter right!? I always use to wonder how people were able to seem to be so happy all the time, so when I saw she wrote an autobiography a few years back, I set out to read it to see if I could find out. And I’m glad I did. The answer to my question was quite simple, she simply chooses to be happy everyday.
Here’s a great quote from her:
“If we can just let go and trust that things will work out they way they’re supposed to, without trying to control the outcome, then we can begin to enjoy the moment more fully. The joy of the freedom it brings becomes more pleasurable than the experience itself.”
In yoga, through the use of our breath we learn to let go of trust our bodies as we learn to tune in and listen, and through the practice we learn that letting go of each pose as we complete it helps us to move fully and wholeheartedly into the next pose. With each pose we let go of the past and experience the present. What a great thing to practice.
Thanks for the advice Goldie, we can all do with learning to let go and trust. Try it.
Have a great day yogis!
